Easy run, with an easy pace.

Got my Jawbone on again.

ECP was at its quiet-est and peaceful that I've been to.

We were lucky. A crazy thunderstorm began as soon as we finished running...

Mizuno Wave Run

Sunday, 13 September.

Mizuno Wave runs starts at 7.30am.

My first competitive run with the Oakley Jawbone.

Pros:
1. Cancels out the glare from the morning sun.
2. Clarity is superb, took off the shades to see the sun shinning straight to my eyes!
3. Didn't have to adjust much, good fit. Not to mention its super light.
4. Sweat and water on the lens didn't affect my performance
5. Makes me feel like a superstar!

Cons:
1. For some reason, i had to take of the Jawbone a few times because sweat kept retaining in my eyes.
2. A tad too big for running, perfect for cycling.

Its a real shame that the run was sooo badly organised. (I'm sorry, let me bitch abit...)

Pet peeves of a competitive runner:
1. Bottleneck crowds (traffic jam of runners) due to the planning of only ONE wave.
2. Marshallers directing runners to the wrong direction! Some of us ran 1-2KM more...
3. This concerns safety and its extremely important in ALL endurance events: Too few water points and there's NO WATER at some of them!!!
4. Traffic lights - come on, red light for a few secs, how to run competitively?
5. No road block - 'Runners please keep to the pavement, no running on roads' Super pissed off.

Quit running and walked after 1hr of pointless running.

The worst run i attempted so far. The only highlight of the run was a sweet finisher's medal.
But, I did not feel i earned it at all.

Cycling test

Defied the bad weather and my parent's persistance of not wanting me to cycle out, i managed to test the Jawbone while riding my bike to work.

Had the day lenses on for a rainy ride. Still, clear vision, no problems as all Oakley lenses do. Even fogging of the lenses is minimized because of the jagged edges of the Jawbone lenses.

The fitting was very good as it was light and secured to my eyes without much adjusting.

Just a shame that there wasn't any sun out there today.

See, previously i had to rush back home to work before it gets dark if i ride to work. No worries this time. I left the Club at 8pm, dark as hell, no problems. Switched the lens with minimal work, no fear of breaking them at all.

And now, i can ride my shades at night to protect me of any flying debris while riding, see what happened to Flippe Massa?

Just hope that the sun comes out soon. I only have 20 odd days left to test!

I just had to get it on.

After procrasting since lunch time, I thought i found every excuse to be lazy.

But the Jawbone was staring at me.

I had to go.

Got my kit on and laced up, swapped the lenses within a minute.

Still feeling full from grandma's dinner, i thought i should go easy and really test out the shades with the night lenses on.

The moment i got it on, I felt a slight difference in the lights around me. The glare from the headlights and the street lights were dimmed. I lifted the shades up and down to see the contrast and the result was immediate.

Considering that the Jawbone has an added function of the SwitchLock technology and the size of the lenses are bigger than the Radar, the Jawbone is relatively light.

To top it off, it fits my face perfectly, just like the Radar.

Well, its just a 20 min workout.

Next testing will be the Club's Saturday Morning run at Bishan park!

The New Oakley Jawbone

New shades from Oakley!!!

As seen as recently in the Tour de France, where Lance and his Astana team mates sported these cool new shades, the new Oakley Jawbone is out in Singapore!

I was lucky enough to be selected for a trial of their new product, and i can't wait to put them on.

Was at Oakley's main office yesterday for a short presentation by a pleasant lady named Joey, who really had to be patient with me as I tested Oakley's lens resistance by attempting to break it into 2...

No really, in terms of switching lenses comparing with my current Radar and the new Jawbone,

No Contest.

The Jawbone was a breeze with their switchlock technology...Like what Joey said, The phobia of breaking the lenses is still there (For Radar).

The Jawbone continues the legacy of Oakley's High Definition Optics (HDO) technology of making the Sunglass work for you instead of your eyes.

Do you know that by wearing other sunglasses without the HDO technology, your eye muscles have to work harder so that you can focus better on the things you see?

Haha...Sweet stuff from Oakley.

Gonna try out the Jawbone real soon!
